On Death, Pets, and Toilet Seats

Just realized something is missing...a post on this Blog is what is missing!

I didn't have a very good week.  In fact it was downright crap.  And somehow it is Sunday night and a new work week starts in just a few hours.  Help me.
Friday was the worst.  My Zoe had a mental breakdown.  Seriously!  Luigi took her to the vet for a shot and by the time she got there she had a high fever, frothing at the mouth, and drooling. Poor baby girl.  Dr. Mendez thinks she just got too worked up on the drive over.  She's been kind of quiet all weekend.  She discovered the deliciousness of tuna tonight.  I opened up a can and gave her a little.  She scarfed it and wanted more.  So I gave her more.  And more.  Little brat saw me throw the empty can in the trash bag.  Which she dragged out onto the kitchen floor.  Now she is just lurking in the kitchen like a junkie waiting for her next fix!

Had a nice day yesterday.  My friend, Jeanette, went to church with us way up in nowhere land.  I think she liked it!  I love Jeanette - she's just awesome.  We have good conversations and we laugh.  We are both beginning new journeys this year and we will be an excellent support team for each other as our paths are very similar.

I attended a memorial service last night.  It seems to be the norm lately.  Way too many deaths.  Not that death is a really bad thing.  I mean, look at this world and how awful it is.  Let's break that down to just this country.  Crime, drugs, and a lot of sorrow.  And then when you look at who is charge here on earth, it is downright frightening.  So those who have lived a good life and are ready for some rest - death will bring them peace.  No more pain and suffering.  No more tears, disappointments, and sorrow.  If you believe in the Bible and have faith you KNOW that there is something better to come.  There have been people in my life that I really want to see again and I will have that opportunity in Heaven.  My grandma died at 58 years old.  I was 13 and didn't have near enough time with her.  I want to make up for that.  And while some people may think this is shallow or strange, one of my biggest reasons for wanting to be in Heaven?  My pets.  I just know they will be there.  To me, that is enough reason right there - to spend forever with them is worth everything to me.  Some people wonder if pets will be in Heaven and my answer to that is why wouldn't they be?  If something brings you that much joy in life here on this crappy earth, then they will get to live in the perfect neighborhood up in the sky.  A loving God is not going to keep our beloved dogs and cats and other creatures from us.  I've got Roxie, Zoe, Blueberry, Cassie, Tabatha, Emily, Joe Friday, Jack, Cali, Beaky Bird, Fluff, Christy Timby, Susie, Puff Puff, and Buster.  15 perfect reasons!  If you need a break-down that would be 5 dogs, 6 cats, and 4 birds.

Big  news...I have a new toilet seat!  Thanks to Rhonda who is my do-it-yourself-fix-it person!  We went to breakfast at the Broken Yolk and then Lowe's and found a lovely round, white, seat.  Such a selection - who knew?  She was willing to help me install the beauty.  I tried to unscrew something.  I was there.  I threw the trash away.  And I learned that my screwdriver head flips over and turns from a philips to a slot.  Incredible.  Rhonda can do most anything - bless her!  But let me tell you - there are some creepy toilet seats out there.  The two toilet seats that creep me out the most are the wood ones and the cushion ones.  No one should sit on a toilet long enough that they need a cushion.  That's just wrong!  But I saw the ultimate seat today...it was a cushion one with a cushion lid and there were pastel butterflys stiched on it.  Rhonda said it reminded her of creepy Mariah Carey.  Mariah Carey IS creepy.  I bet she has a cushioned toilet seat...
